Blue Cross Named Canada’s Top Ranked Health Benefits Provider

Posted by Medavie Blue Cross on May 27, 2020

For over 75 years, Blue Cross has been dedicated to helping Canadians live healthier lives while supporting our communities for the better. As we’ve continued to evolve and innovate our health benefit services and offerings, our approach to providing best-in-class care has been constant.

Blue Cross’s approach to health care service and delivery has earned the company the top placement as a health benefits provider in Canada from Leger’s 2020 Survey on Canada’s Top 100 Brands. Medavie Blue Cross is proud to share this recognition as part of The Canadian Association of Blue Cross Plans.

“At Medavie Blue Cross, providing exceptional care and health solutions is at the centre of everything we do,” said Eric Laberge, President of Medavie Blue Cross. “This ranking reflects the high level of trust that Canadians continue to place in our brand – an honour our team holds with importance and pride.”

Blue Cross was measured across several reputational categories and scored the highest among health benefit providers at number 71. Notably, in Atlantic Canada, Blue Cross received a strong reputation score of 61.

Leger compiles their annual rankings based on six core pillars of corporate responsibility:

  • financial strength
  • social responsibility
  • honesty and transparency
  • attachment
  • quality
  • innovation

Earlier this year, the Reader’s Digest most trusted brands of 2020 survey tied Blue Cross with Sun Life in the number one spot under the health and dental category.

“This year marks the 23rd year that Leger has measured reputation in Canada. Over that time, we have found that a good reputation can make the difference to an organization surviving and succeeding during both good times and bad,” said Dave Scholz, Executive Vice-President of Leger. “Measuring your reputation and understanding what is driving reputational values in your sector is the key to identifying areas where you can promote your positive aspects and where an organization has work to do.”

Like our counterpart plans across Canada, Medavie Blue Cross operates on a not-for-profit basis and is committed to improving the wellbeing of Canadians.
