Benefits3 conference explores impacts of Canada’s changing demographics on health care

April 5, 2017

Halifax (NS) April 3, 2017 – On April 4 and 5, Medavie Blue Cross will bring some of North America’s top health experts to Halifax for its sold-out Benefits3 conference. Medavie CEO and former New Brunswick premier Bernard Lord will address the importance of innovation and collaboration in creating a modern and sustainable health care system.

“Benefits3 is an opportunity for employers and industry professionals to come together to exchange thoughts and ideas that will lead to healthier workplaces,” said David Adams, Medavie Blue Cross’s Atlantic Canada Market Leader and event host. “Through this conference, we will share the latest benefit trends and topics and provide delegates with tools and resources they can apply to their businesses and organizations.”

This year’s theme, Generation Everyone, recognizes the impact shifting demographics are having on the workplace, from millennials looking for flexibility in their benefits plans to long-time employees seeking support to care for their elderly parents.

Now in its 11th year, the conference will feature a varied program of panel discussions, breakout sessions and keynote speeches on topics ranging from lowering the cost of drugs to managing chronic disease.

Among the featured speakers is Erin Bury, one of Marketing Magazine’s 30 Under 30, who will provide employers with keys to unlocking the success of their millennial employees. "As a millennial who manages a team of millennials at a marketing agency, I've seen the shifting benefits trends first-hand. Millennials - myself included - care about things like flexible plans, mobile-friendly access, and wellness perks, and I'm excited to share more about this generation and their shifting habits at the Benefits3 conference. While I work exclusively with millennials, I'm also excited to speak on a cross-generational panel to discuss how this generation fits in with Boomers, Gen X, and others in the workplace." said Bury.

More than 160 delegates will attend the conference, which will be held at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel.
