Multi-factor Authentication is a service that verifies your identity by sending a single use password to a trusted phone or email. It adds an extra layer of security, beyond your username and password to help prevent someone else from getting into your account.
You will be prompted to begin the setup process the first time you access an application protected by MFA.

You must enter your user ID and password before your MFA code is sent.
Yes, 1 866 517-3837 is the phone number used by Medavie to send out MFA texts.
MFA texts will never have clickable links and Medavie will never call to ask you for your MFA code.
If you ever receive suspicious contact about your MFA, please call your system administrator immediately.
When you first set up multi-factor authentication, you will have five minutes to enter your code.
After setup, each time you log in, you will have 30 seconds to enter your code to authenticate your login.
If your time expires, you will need to request a new code.
No. Medavie employees will never ask for your MFA code.
If anyone contacts you asking for your MFA code please call your system administrator immediately.
Medavie does not charge any fees for MFA, however, your carrier may charge for SMS text usage.
No, once MFA is enabled, it cannot be turned off.
MFA is being rolled out gradually across all applications.
The application will log out automatically after being left inactive. This could happen multiple times a day, depending on how frequently you use the application.
A new MFA code will need to be entered on every login
You received a reply saying you are unsubscribed and can no longer receive MFA texts. Reply to the text with START to reenable MFA.

MFA security is important. But we understand that you might not have time right now. You can skip the MFA setup now and we’ll remind you in 15 days. After 60 days MFA setup is mandatory.
If your application scheduled to be protected by MFA you can set it up at any time using MFA self-service.
After 5 incorrect login attempts, your account will be locked for 10 minutes. After that time, you can try to log in again.
