The coronavirus pandemic has highlighted a growing need for safe and effective virtual medical consultations. As a health solutions partner, Medavie Blue Cross is pleased to offer its newest virtual health care service to eligible customers.
Over the coming weeks, members of the Elements, Options and Options Plus personal health plans will have access to Online Doctors, a service Medavie Blue Cross offers in partnership with Maple, Canada’s leading virtual care provider. Online Doctors will be provided at no additional cost to allow these plan members to instantly talk to a Canadian doctor for diagnosis, medical advice, and treatment right from their computer, smartphone or tablet.
“With many family doctors operating with reduced hours or limiting in-office visits, the value of accessing personalized medical advice without leaving home becomes clear,” said David Adams, Vice-President, Business Development for Medavie Blue Cross. “Online Doctors will give our members peace of mind, knowing that they can see a doctor from the comfort of their own living rooms.”
Online Doctors is easy to access through the Medavie mobile app or member services website. Information on the new benefit will be sent to members by email. For members who haven’t signed-up for email communications, register online through the Medavie Blue Cross member services site, via the Medavie mobile app or by calling 1-888-919-7378.
