A unique model in customer service and experience

At Medavie Blue Cross, we don’t just think outside the box — we create new ones.

By applying bold thinking to our product and service offering, we’ve achieved several historic firsts in Canada’s health insurance industry. We pioneered the creation of the member ID card and an extended health benefit to help members self-manage their chronic condition. We also led the way in negotiating cost-savings agreements with drug manufacturers and establishing our own medication advisory panel, to review new drugs entering the market for clinical efficacy and cost.



More recently, we added a unique member service and experience model to our list of ground-breaking designs. Medavie Benefits+ is an all-inclusive health benefits and wellness centre with three locations in the heart of Halifax, NS, downtown Moncton, NB, and Kenmount Road in St. John's, NL — and another first of its kind for our industry.



The centres provide an end-to-end, value-added member experience that helps members to become full partners in their health care, guided by our team of experienced Benefits+ Specialists.



Members (and the general public) are welcome to walk in and experience the Medavie Blue Cross brand. They can sit down with one of the Benefits+ Specialists to learn and explore our benefit plan options ― even enjoy a hot beverage as they discover our digital, self-service tools.

The centres in St. John’s and at the Blue Cross Centre in Moncton are open to the public Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m and at Scotia Square in Halifax from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. Our team would be happy to give you a personal tour, walk you through its features and explain how Medavie Benefits+ is truly evolving our member experience.
